Lotte is a passionate artist with a rich family history in the arts. Growing up with successful painter father and a talented equally successful wood carver mother; she pursued her own artistic journey by studying Fine Art at Oxford Brookes University, overcoming challenges related to dyslexia along the way. After a successful career in mural painting and an illustration agent in London, Lotte transitioned into personal training, establishing her business, Lively Bodies, Alderley Edge. With a strong commitment to health and fitness she also became a yoga teacher and nutritional adviser; further enriching her diverse skill set. Lotte's journey then took a thrilling turn when she moved to Abu Dhabi with her four children, just as she her fifth child Nina was born amid the global lockdown caused by the Covid pandemic and Lotte embraced the challenges of homeschooling while nurturing her newborn, this experience sparked a revival of her artistic passions, leading her to launch successful group art classes for children. Balancing her personal training career with the joys and demands of motherhood, Lotte's story is one of resilience and creativity,  continuing her historical and passionate love for triathlon which led her to compete in numerous events over five years, including a half Ironman in Oman and showcasing her skills at the ITU World Championships.

Upon returning to Teddington in London, she reignited her love for painting and pottery, acquiring her own kiln and wheel and creating a beautiful home studio. As a mother of five, Lotte juggles school runs and kids after school activities as well as competing still in running half marathons and competing in Hyrox events.

After a run of mental health issues she embraced a ADHD diagnosis at the age of 46, bringing a unique perspective to her creative endeavors. Through her pottery, she explores the beauty of imperfection, transforming what many might see as mistakes into stunning works of art. Each piece is a to the notion that beauty can be found in the unconventional. Her creations are all equally valuable, both and her seemingly 'perfect' ones and also the seemingly 'imperfect' ones. Always trying to use and transform pieces that may have been thrown away or discarded. Over the last year, Lotte has embraced this, exploring the between rough and smooth textures, as well as the contrasts of color and light and dark. This creative journey inspired her to name her venture Lotte's Imperfectly Perfect Ceramics reflecting her unique artistic philosophy. LIP Ceramics was born.
